Conservation CommissionThe Conservation Commission is made up of local conservation volunteers who work to study and protect natural resources within the town. These active volunteers study natural resources and develop long-term plans and strategies for the protection of important places. They provide educational programs and hikes. They work to permanently protect land. They educate the public about renewable energy. They manage town lands for timber production, recreation and wildlife. They research the latest tools and advise other boards on the importance of the town's natural resources. They are able to work with the state's Department of Environmental Services to provide local comment on wetland permits.
